Not all senshi have to have a Japanese name. In fact, unless your character is Japanese in origin, it's recommended that you don't. There's a wide variety of cultures on Earth (and from elsewhere if you're making up a star system) to choose from for naming and to use as a base for your senshi.

Names don't even necessarily have to mean anything, but that's the trend. I recommend checking out Baby names world for a wide range of names.

Birthday and Astrology:
Again, the trend is for that the birthday and astrology to have deep meaning to the character and have it as the base for their personality. This isn't necessary! I know lots of people who are nothing like their Zodiac. On the other side, if you're creating Zodiac senshi, it might be a good idea to go wtih it.
